Nothing Phone (3): A New Glyph Matrix Rear Display, Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and a 3x Periscope Triple Camera
Nothing has officially launched the Phone (3). The opinions and analysis here are our own; specs are cited from Nothing's official product page (see sources below).
Official facts: the Phone (3) runs a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 with 12–16GB of RAM; the display is a 6.67-inch AMOLED at 2800×1260, 120Hz, with up to 4,500 nits peak brightness; the back features a new Glyph Matrix dot display (replacing the prior light strips, able to show richer information); cameras are a 50MP triple setup (including a 3x periscope) with a 50MP front camera; the battery is 5,150mAh with 65W wired charging. Nothing lists pricing from US$799.
Our take: the Phone (3)'s biggest draw is still design differentiation — the transparent aesthetic plus the new Glyph Matrix dot display upgrades what used to be mere light strips into a micro-interface that can show countdowns, calls and mini tools, an identity no one else is seriously pursuing. The spec upgrades are pragmatic too: a 6.67-inch 4,500-nit panel, a 3x periscope and a 5,150mAh battery shore up the previous generation's weaker zoom and brightness. The honest trade-offs: the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is a sub-flagship tier, trailing the true 8 Elite flagships in raw performance and heavy gaming; 65W wired charging — and no wireless (per official specs) — isn't aggressive next to the "6,000mAh + 100W" crowd; and for many, Glyph Matrix still leans more fun than essential. It's best for people who value design and identity, with performance that's good enough.
An honest note: pricing, memory/storage options and colors follow Nothing's regional sites and channels; the Glyph Matrix tools and third-party integrations may expand gradually via software updates (this model was announced 2025-07-01 with sales from 2025-07-15).
